Description

Technische Universität Berlin is one of Germany's leading technical universities. The university's main research areas are engineering and natural sciences. The university’s Dept. of Community Energy and Adaptation to Climate Change is heading the coordination of the SUNNY project. In its research, the department is focusing on bottom-up community approaches, originating in local needs and requirements with regard to sustainable energy and adaptation to climate change approaches.

Role in the project

As the coordinator, Technische Universität Berlin oversees the management of the project across multiple levels. In addition, it is heading several of the key research components of the project. These include the conceptual design of the project, holistic assessments throughout the project implementation, and the development of novel participatory methodologies.

Under the SUNNY project, CTEN is set to extend its operations to Rwanda and South Sudan respectively.
