Description

LUT University is a pioneering science university in Finland, bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969. Our international community is composed of approximately 6,500 students and experts engaged in scientific research and academic education. LUT University strategy 2030: System Earth includes Turning emissions into opportunities and transition to a carbon-neutral world by utilizing Power-to-X technologies.

Role in the project

LUT University has role in all research components in the project. From sustainable energy systems technical design and IoT, digitalization, business models, productive use of energy, electricity demand evolution, energy communities and those markets, just and energy policies, to environmental impact assessment. LUT is WP6 Leader, and through multi-disciplinary approaches provides solutions for the challenges within the context of refugee and host communities.

The mission of the NGO is to empower and develop communities through ICT (Information Communication Technology), provision of advice and support, workshops and conferences, talent shows and exhibitions, exchange and learning visits and sports activities in a bid to build their economic and social resilience, enhance peaceful coexistence and promote sustainable environmental practices to mitigate climate change.
Under the SUNNY project, CTEN is set to extend its operations to Rwanda and South Sudan respectively.
