Through its inception and end-of-year feedback meetings, CTEN set the stage for the SUNNY project, which aims to drive community-based protection, education, and livelihood improvements through enhanced and sustainable access to energy services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">About CTEN<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CTEN, a Registered Refugee-Led Organization (RLO), that operates under the vision of fostering a <strong>healthy, informed, and peaceful community<\/strong>. On <strong>November 18, 2024<\/strong>, CTEN held an <strong>inception meeting<\/strong> in <strong>Zone 1<\/strong> to introduce the SUNNY project. This project targets <strong>Zones 1-5<\/strong> and seeks to integrate within the existing settlement framework to enhance collaboration and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>November 22, 2024<\/strong>, an end-of-year feedback meeting was held with key stakeholders, including the <strong>Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Refugee Welfare Councils (RWCs), Religious and opinion leaders, and other RLOs<\/strong>. This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, challenges, and lessons learned over the past six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Objectives of the Inception Meeting<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The inception meeting aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduce the SUNNY project to all stakeholders and highlight its alignment with the settlement\u2019s operational framework.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present approved work packages, deliverables, and timelines for effective implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Define roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures for consortium partners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gather feedback from the community on activities conducted by CTEN in collaboration with <strong>TUB, ReFuse, and UMAK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Attendance and Engagement:<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The two meetings attracted <strong>41 participants<\/strong> comprising representatives from <strong>government, community leadership, and refugee-led organizations<\/strong>. The gender distribution included <strong>28 males and 13 females<\/strong>, achieving approximately <strong>70% attendance<\/strong> of the targeted stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/sunny-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/image-2-1024x453.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-634\" style=\"width:1024px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunny-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/image-2-980x434.png 980w, https:\/\/sunny-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/image-2-480x212.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Key Achievements:<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the past six months, CTEN made notable strides in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increasing awareness of <strong>renewable energy solutions<\/strong> and <strong>waste management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouraging <strong>active participation<\/strong> of local communities in workshops and surveys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying <strong>priority waste sites<\/strong> for intervention.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening <strong>collaboration<\/strong> between stakeholders and community representatives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Challenges Identified:<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the achievements made, several challenges emerged:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Limited resources<\/strong> to scale up waste management interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The need for <strong>more practical demonstrations<\/strong> and pilot projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gaps in technical capacity<\/strong> among local community members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, these challenges are not insurmountable. With continued engagement from partners and the valuable feedback from the community, SUNNY is implementing strategies to address these issues effectively. Increased resource allocation, practical training sessions, and strengthening local capacity will help overcome these obstacles, ensuring the long-term success of the project.
